A friend of mine
pointed out this message board for a particular stock. Well, he thinks he may have found
Baghdad Bob. Let's for the sake of protecting Baghdad Bob's identity, we'll use
fictitious names for the companies. We'll call the company that Bob works for
Widget Inc. with a trade symbol of WID.
The story starts out
that some person named Fred has heard that some company, we'll call Gizmo, is
rumored to have bought a product from Widget that has a quality problem and they
are thinking of suing them.

are being paid to represent Widget Inc. and therefore are held responsible for

A monitor is someone
who works for a company and "monitor's" message board to prevent false rumors
from spreading. Except here, it's the monitors who may be spreading false rumors.
I guess Fred had dealt with these idiots before.
Here's Baghdad Bob's
response. Note how he pitches how great Widget Inc. is. Just like it was copied from
the company brochure. What is especially funny is that he's hinting that this a
blockbuster deal. I don't think so......

Widget Inc. supplies products and services to over 50
customers. Widget Inc.'s SEC filings report that
its facilities are "organized as customer-focused factories, which have
dedicated manufacturing lines and customer teams" in an approach that
enhances customer satisfaction and manufacturing flexibility.
Don't know of any blockbuster deals but Gizmo is one of Widget Inc.'s current
customers!
Today will be the last buying opportunity then it is a steady rise in the
stock price!

Why did you post this ? We all know what Widget Inc. does. Probably it would
have been better not to respond and not draw suspicion from what appears to
be a "I neither can confirm nor deny" statement.
What I know is that this is no blockbuster deal and it involves some kind of
product Gizmo has been buying from the Widget Inc. doorknob group. Something from

handy, has found some irrelevant information to make Widget Inc. look good and
that Fred got his facts mixed up.

Think Widget Inc.'s management are in a catch 22 position they want to state

Handle Corp, isn't good but look how he turns it around that it's good news for

Widget Inc. being a high beta stock got hammered!
Actually this price drop is a good thing since the additional 18 million buy
back will cost less cash! Leaving more on the Balance sheet!
Going forward what everyone is not taking into account is prospective
Door Handle Corp. customers might now look elsewhere for their outsourcing needs!
Looking at this lawsuit as reason to give other doorknob providers the nod.
What makes me laugh is when the stock price drops down all the shorts come
out!
Where were you guys when the stock was over$20 on Sept 8th?

We'll never find out
for sure if it's Baghdad Bob but this guy is got to be some kind of cousin at
least. Anyway, you're probably thinking that this is just some quirk and no one
writes these kind of messages. Or worst yet, I made it up. Wrong! This
company has been doing it for years with monitors to keep up "the image" of the
company. After one bad quarter announcement, the message board was flooded with
messages saying things like "I left the company a few months ago but the
management team is superb" or "The management team is world class." If someone
raises anything that might cause some suspicion and makes the company look bad, immediately Baghdad Bob is
there to set the record straight that the company is doing great. What's really funny is that
you would think that no one in their
right mine would pay any attention to this. Think again. When the first note
came out about Gizmo and Widget, there were dozens of employees at Widget Inc.,
standing around speculating on the note. This apparently went on for a few hours
until a manager stops by and sees the
note. His response is "Bob is right! We are doing great and we are anticipating wins!". That's
scary!!!!!
