Personnel Calls

There's always an employee that seems to receive a personnel phone call every hour or so. Spending more time gabbing than actually doing any work and leaving YOU to pick up the slack.

Here's something that I seen that works very effectively.

When they're out of the cubicle, sneak in and set up their phone to forward all calls to another location. Good locations are

Their manager's office or higher up the ladder like the CEO.

 

Out to some public place like the lab or manufacturing floor.

 

To the front desk like a secretary's or security.

 

Or if you are really rude, to a bar in Bogotá Columbia.

I seen this applied to some poor sap that would get daily calls from his buddies and girlfriends. Someone in his work area set up his phone to forward all his calls to the lab which had the engineers and techs working. These folks are busy looking at waveforms and turning dials. They DO NOT like to bothered by phone calls. Especially when the phone is 50ft away and you just can't leave the equipment running without supervision. Well, by the end of the day, every engineer and tech working in that lab was huddle around that poor sap's manager bitching a storm about all these calls that they were receiving out in the lab for that idiot. Lets just say that the next day, that poor sap didn't receive or make anymore personnel calls at work. That's because his phone was taken away.
